  If you've never seen Phil light his pipe with a magnifying glass you've not lived. He can light his pipe faster with this glass than you can strike a match, on a sunny day that is. LYE SOAP



  Lye soap would be a very common thing to find in any camp north or south. It was easy to make and used ingredients that would have otherwise been thrown away. Our LYE SOAP is very mild and does not have a strong fragrance as some soaps do. You can safely wash any garment or body part with this soap and have no fear of discoloration or things falling off. This large bar of soap comes wrapped in wax paper and covered with cotton cloth, tied closed with string. So do yourself and your pards a favor, buy some soap for Pete's sake!

RYKER CASES



  These little Ryker cases are so handy I don't know where to start. Have you ever bought or found a relic, coin or piece of jewelry that you couldn't wait to show off to your friends? Most of us have, but on second thought you hesitated because you really didn't want everyone to handle your new treasure. Oil from the hands, the chance of dropping it and then some folks really don't know how to handle fragile items. But with this little case you can show off you finds with no danger of damage even from your "butter finger" friends. TIN CONTAINERS

  We are very happy to be able to offer these great tin containers once again. I underestimated just how popular they would be. We sold out of them in just a few weeks even though I bought the last supplier completely out.
Fortunately we have secured a large shipment and should not run out any time soon.

The uses for these great little tins is just unlimited. Use them for your med.s, tooth powder or to replace that plastic pistol cap container that's been rolling around in the bottom of your haversack for the last 6 re-enactments. WOODEN DISK FOR CHECKERS ETC.

  Checkers anyone? If you've ever been stuck in camp because of the weather you know that you can play cards for only so long. Checkers is a great alternative. These little wooden disk are about the size of a quarter and about twice as thick. You can color them, draw on or mark them in anyway you see fit. Red, Black etc. You could even make a chess set by simply marking them with P for pawn, K for King etc. Now all you have to do is draw a checker board on the white side of your ground cloth.   Our hand sewn period-correct housewives are made with meticulous care to ensure that you receive the best in authenticity. It is copied from an original in our collection. SECRET MESSAGE TUBE

  This "SECRET MESSAGE TUBE" is made to the exact measurements as it's famous counter-part that was used by Mosby's Rangers in the Shenandoah Valley. No doubt the Old Grey Ghost himself must have had the original in his hands on numerous occasions. Our repro is 5 1/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inch wide. The cap is slightly larger. Unlike the one carried by Mosby's men we did not inscribe ours with the motto, " Not to be opened by anyone under the rank of Col. under penalty of death." We thought you might like the option of having your own "motto" inscribed by your local jeweler.

1851 PATENT MARKED HARD RUBBER COMB

  Brand new 1851 hard rubber comb. This great copy of a hard rubber comb is made from an original in our collection that was found in a union trash pit in Virginia. Marked just as the original "I.R." (India rubber) comb company 1851 Goodyear and made to the exact specifications as the original. It's the little things that really make an impression great and we feel like this is one of the best little things that we have made in a while.

One example of this comb was found along a river bank in Richmond, VA. with the reverse side stamped U.S. NAVY. The combs in the photo (above right) are from an 1850's store advertisement.

CONFEDERATE CIPHER DISK

  Wow! What a superb replica of a Confederate cipher disk. The principle encipher/decipherment system used by the Confederate government and military was based on a centuries old system known as the "Vigenere system", called the Vicksburg system by the Confederate States of America. The pocket-sized cipher disk was developed for the use of signalers. This cipher disk is a faithful replica of the original. (at the moment only five are known to have survived). One of these original cipher discs was given to the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, VA by Major Graham Davis, who, as assistant Adjutant to General S.G. French, used it to encipher and decipher messages for his commander. Cipher discs were probably made at the request of E.P. Alexander, who, in 1861 was ordered to establish a Confederate signal Corps.
Our cipher disc comes with a disc, a soft velvet bag to keep it scratch free, and a set of detailed instructions so that you can too soon be sending your own coded messages. What a great gift for anyone interested in cryptology!

  Is there anything that comes in as handy as a kerchief? I can't even count how many different things I've used one for. A hat, a bag, a bandage, a wash cloth, a towel, a filter, an oven mitt, and on and on. I don't leave the house without one, really. I will turn the car around and drive home if I am within 5 miles of the house and find myself without one. WAR OF 1861 I. D. DISC

  This is a super repro of an original Civil War I.D. Disc. The precursor to the dog tag. They were privately purchased from sutlers. The back side of the disk is blank so that you can inscribe your name, regiment, and company on it, (God forbid, just in case the worst should happen). We need to know where to ship the body.
Made in Tennessee from lead free pewter.
