TENNESSEE CLAY MARBLESNow these marbles do not go back to the CW but they are a very rare find. I think you could pass some of the "swirleys" off as CW if you were of a mind to be a dirty cheat as some are almost a solid color. I'll tell you the story that I was told about these marbles. There was a marble factory in upper central middle Tennessee. Somewhere around Carthage. It burned in the 1920's and was never rebuilt. About 7 years ago some one finally decided to build on the site of the old marble factory. While digging the footer for the new building they hit a large cache of the old marbles. I bought a few hundred from one of the guys who was on the work crew. As usual I forgot all about them until I stumbled across them while looking for some completely unrelated item. But now that they have been re-found I'm going to offer them up for sale. Notice in the photo that some have designs? Each one was hand painted! The "artist" seemed to have had free reign as no two are exactly alike. They have all sorts of designs on them. One has a skunk, another a Christmas tree ornament but most have flower like designs or simple rings. They are certainly a unique part of Tennessee history even if they are not Civil War dated. $2.95 # SWIRLEYS BUY NOW! TENNESSEE CLAY MARBLES PAINTED $3.95 # PAINTED BUY NOW!

MUSICAL TRIANGLEOur triangles are hand forged from steel, not iron and tempered to a hardness that imparts a very pure tone to our little instrument. They have a very "chime" like report, very mellow and easy on the ear. Believe it or not their is such a thing as a bad triangle, they sound like someone dropping an iron pipe on a concrete floor - so beware of fly by night or door to door triangle salesmen. # 2435 $11.95 BUY NOW! ![]() JAW HARP, JAW HARPS ARE FOUND IN ALMOST EVERY CAMP SIGHT WHERE CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS SPENT ANY TIME. THE GAME OF JACKS, YOU GET 10 JACKS IN A LEATHER BAGWITH 2 BALLS AND INSTRUCTIONS. ENOUGH FOR ONE OR TWO PLAYERS. I'M A THREESEASE MAN MYSELF. # 401 $6.95 BUY NOW! Wooden Dice
If you have read many soldier's diaries then you know that when they did have any free time one of their favorite things to do was to gamble. Wasn't it Sam Watkins who in his book "Co. Aytch" said that all the boys would throw away the cards and dice before they went into battle. So that if they were killed and their body or belongings sent home their mothers and wives wouldn't find these instruments of the devil in their pockets.
Now you don't have to actually wager to have fun with a pair of dice.
I can shoot craps for hours just for the fun of it, just ask my wife. In camp I have been known to play for hard tack from time to time. I'm sure even if your only rolling "high dice" for who has to stand guard tonight you too will have lots of fun with these wooden dice.
