SOD CLOTHES

  Sod clothes are a 12 inch strip canvas sewn to the inside of each wall of the tent at the bottom. When a ground cloth is used in conjunction with a sod cloth the two overlap and forms a tight seal to keep out wind, weather, and bugs. If you buy a setup kit with your tent it does not include the sod cloth! The sod cloth must be sewn on when the tent is made. Be sure to order the sod cloth when you order your tent. It can not be added later.


STOVE PIPE INSERTS

  Fire retardant stove inserts are available on any of our wall tents or our great wedge tent. We can even put on in our large A Frame tent. An insert allows you to safely use a stove and vent it through your tent wall or roof with little to no risk of scorching your tent. A flap of canvas rolls down and ties over the hole when a stove is not in use to prevent leakage. So if you want to warm things up a little while your out on those cold weather campaigns just order a stove pipe insert with your Blockade Runner Tent. LARGE WALL TENT

12 Ft. Long, 10 Ft. Wide, 4 Ft. Walls,

  The photo on the right is of our large wall tent with a 12 X 12 fly in front. The fly is set up using an 8 pole set up with ridge. This wall tent is large enough for an entire family or for several grown men to occupy comfortably for days.
This design works great for Rev. War, Mountain man, or Civil War. If you compare our tents to other manufacturers you will notice that the peak and the side walls of the Blockade Runner tents are several inches taller. Although a few inches may not sound like much it makes a big difference in the amount of useable space.
(You know, the area before you have to stoop over to get around!)
  Here are the spec's. 7 ft. 4 inches tall at the peak. It's 10 ft wide at the bottom. The tent is 12 ft. long and the side walls are 4 ft tall. This tent comes with front and rear door openings (unless you request otherwise). The doors overlap 6 inches inside and out and has a total of 8 ties per door to stop the wind from whistling through! All of our tents are made from 10.38 ounce sunforger (T.M.) canvas, water repellant, mildew resistant, and fire retardant treated to meet California state specifications. (the toughest Reg.s out there).   The side walls have grommets and loops at the top so it can be set up with or without side wall poles. We triple reenforced the peaks where you need it most!

CHATTANOOGA REBEL REPORTS!

April 25, 1863
  The Tullahoma correspondent of the Chattanooga Rebel says, from present indications the campaign in Middle Tennessee will open in earnest. In pursuance of a recent order of Bragg all tents and extra baggage are sent to the rear, only three flies being reserved to every hundred men.

  Todd Watts just returned from a bear hunting trip where he used his large wall as base camp for the entire week. Todd says, "Just thought you would like to see much room we had using your tent for a modern hunt. Two and sometime three of us used the tent and never felt crowded, thanks".

STANDARD WALL TENT

  OUR STANDARD WALL TENT comes with all of the features of the large wall except it has one door standard. You can choose a 2 door model at the bottom of this paragraph if you like. Here are the spec's. 6 ft. 4 inches tall at the peak. 10ft wide at the bottom. The tent is 12 ft. long with side walls 3 ft. tall. Our standard model has one door. The door overlaps 6 inches. Ties inside and out with 8 ties total. This keeps the wind (but not your friends) from blowing through.   This tent gives you lots of room, it's just a little smaller than our large model. Why 6 ft. 4 inches at the peak and 36 inch tall side walls you ask? Well some of the others guys are selling tents that are only 6' tall at the peak with side walls that are only 30 inches tall. This leaves the average 5'8 person with only a very narrow strip down the middle of their tent that they can use without bending over. Gee Whiz! That's small!
We just thought you would enjoy the extra room.

  Our great wedge tent is made using the same high quality material and superior workmanship as all of our Blockade Runner brand tents, it's just a whole lot bigger than your average A frame!

The great wedge measures 7 ft. tall at the peak. It's 10 ft. wide and 11 ft. 7 1/2 inches long. That gives you the same floor space as a wall tent with a lot fewer poles to carry, and it requires no ropes.   This is the typical A frame/wedge tent that you see at all of the reenactments. (10 billion served so to speak) Two people and their gear will fit in this tent with no problem. But don't invite any company over! The reason this tent is so popular among reenactors is it gives you the most room with the least amount of weight. It's easy to pack in and it can be set up by one person. You just have to walk from end to end a couple of times.   I wouldn't want to share this tent with a stranger. If you carry a lot of stuff, this is a one man tent. One guy or gal and all their gear can fit in this tent with room to spare.
